customer contacted me on monday as he was about to holiday with his motorhome , asking if i could help , i was a mechanic, points and tappets man, before changing to moho engineer, he spoke to the garage he uses ,they said it would need a new ecu at £800 ,2 weeks before they could look at it, checked it with my reader , cleared all faults except the airbag, reader said it had an internal error. so holiday cancelled . after some investigation i contacted crash data, spoke to jean ,expained the faults she new exactly what i was talking about, ( i was impressed) sent the ecu off on tues, txt on Wed saying deliverey Thurs, with a report, check battery charging etc , tested battery 12.8v ,vehicle always started without a problem , fitted ecu airbag light gone , a starter crank test the voltage was dropping to 9.7v , fitted new battery and chaps away on his travels Thurdsay , thanks to all involved . Every day is a school day even for an old timer like me.
