After reading many forums, enquiries with cheaper ebay competitors who would only offer a 50/50 chance of success, buying a second hand unit which would not recode, I sent my broken unit off to crash data with the fatal 65535 error.  Returned in full working order in 2 days.  Wish I did that first.  Highly recommended.
